Our Luxe Pre-Wired kits are assemble by us in the UK using the best components and wiring them in a vintage correct manner.
For our Tele kits we measure the value of each CTS Total Vintage Tone “TVT” pot to create matched sets to give you an even response when rolling down your volume and tone controls and then carefully assemble the kit using CRL switches, Switchcraft sockets, vintage correct wire and of course Luxe Capacitors.
This kit has a Tele Phone Book Wax Impregnated Paper & Foil Capacitor which is hand wound on a 1932 Sprague Specialties Co. Winding Machine replica using exact vintage spec foil and paper film. They're hand soldered, triple hot vacuum impregnated with pure castor oil and pure beeswax and hand-wrapped.
Tones:
The original two-pickup Esquire wiring is characterized by the absence of a real tone control. Instead, the second pot acted as a blend or pan control between the two pickups, and this was only engaged with the 3-way pickup selector switch in the rear position.
