Jon Case

Jon started building guitars when he was 16 and in 1972 went to Canterbury College to study graphic design but really to meet other guitarists and become a famous musician. Well best laid plans and all that, Jon became a graphic designer but still building guitars and in 2000 decided to combine the two and build guitars more seriously.

Jon's time as a graphic designer has been put to good use as you can see from his guitars. There is a strong design sense that runs through all his models. It is not enough for Jon that they are built to a very high standard they have to look right also, and look right they do.

Each guitar is superbly hand crafted by Jon, who also carefully selects the very best tone woods for both sound and looks. He uses a variety of humbucking pickups especially from Bare Knuckle who wind pickups to match Jon's build method and feature a unique mounting system which does away with the moulded ring commonly used with Humbuckers. The mounting tabs are bent under the pickup so that the height adjustment springs and screws are accessed from behind.

Jon also makes his own solid brass bridge with Stainless Steel saddles which strings through the body Tele style, he also use Pigtail wrapover and Tonepros Tuneomatic brigde and Stop Bar.

The elegant asymmetric shape of the guitars gives excellent balance and superior access to the top frets. Positioning of the machine heads allows for a straighter string pull aiding tuning stability, while the 'wave' theme running throughout creates a sense of harmony to the overall design.
