This is a direct replacement for Stop Bars with an 82mm spacing. This part is milled one piece at a time on a CNC from a single billett of aluminium and then hand polished and nickel plated to a very high standard and De-Shined
Almost all other Stop Bars are die cast in zinc or aluminium because it was the only way to produce complex shapes back in the day, no CNC's in the 50's. What no one realized was that a die casting is a terrible material for use in guitar bridges and is virtually incapable of promoting harmonic overtones relying on the power of the pickups to do all the work. This solid Aluminium unit gives your strings a very solid anchor point and so allows them to ring freely which adds to great tone.
There is also an Bell Brass unit in our web shop which has a different tonal range with a bit more mid weight not better just diffrent.
The unit comes complete with studs and press in bushings which of course you do not need if you are upgrading an exsisting guitar. The unit comes as standard with USA threaded posts, if you have an Aisian guitar or need M8 thread studs plese select them from the menue below.
De-Shined finishes are created by us at Charles Guitars to a soft burnished finish. The items are processed individually and they all react differently and so there will be variations to the items you see here but if you go to our facebook or instagram pages you can often see current examples.
