Our Luxe Pre-Wired kits are assemble by us in the UK using the best components and wiring them in a vintage correct manner.
For our Tele kits we measure the value of each CTS Total Vintage Tone “TVT” pot to create matched sets to give you an even response when rolling down your volume and tone controls and then carefully assemble the kit using CRL switches, Switchcraft sockets, vintage correct wire and of course Luxe Capacitors.
This kit has two Tele Phone Book Wax Impregnated Paper & Foil Capacitors each is hand wound on a 1932 Sprague Specialties Co. Winding Machine replica using exact vintage spec foil and paper film. They're hand soldered, triple hot vacuum impregnated with pure castor oil and pure beeswax and hand-wrapped.
Tones:
Viewing the 3-way switch from the playing position.
Position #1 (switch lever on the right): Bridge pickup alone with tone control engaged. (This is identical to today’s modern Telecaster wiring.)
Position #2 (switch lever in the middle): Neck pickup alone with tone control engaged. (On modern Telecasters, this position engages both pickups wired in parallel.)
Position #3 (switch lever on the left): Neck pickup alone with the second capacitor engaged gives a jazzy-sounding preset with most of the treble rolled off and no further tone control. (On a modern Telecaster, this selects the neck pickup alone with tone control engaged.)
